Standard Terms of Service

These are the terms that apply when you buy a website from NorthStar (Edward Dumitrache, sole proprietor). They are written to be read, not to hide things. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you pay.

1. What we build

We design, build, and launch a website for your business. It includes a home page, a separate page for each of your main services, a contact page, and a quote request form that sends new leads to you. The site is built to work on phones, and we give you the web address to add to your Google listing.

• Domain name included. We register it and it is covered by your monthly plan (see Section 4).
• Timeline: we launch within 14 days of receiving your completed onboarding materials — photos, service list, and business details. The clock starts when we have what we need from you, not at signing.
• Revisions: two rounds of changes are included before launch. Additional changes after that are billed at $75/hour, quoted and approved by you first.

2. What you pay

• $499 one-time build fee, plus applicable tax, due at signing.
• $79 per month care plan — your first two months are free. The first monthly charge happens 60 days after signing.
• Payment is by card or bank transfer, kept securely on file with Stripe and charged automatically each month. You will receive an emailed invoice and receipt for every charge.
• You can cancel the care plan at any time with 30 days notice (see Section 9).

3. What the $79 per month covers

Included every month:

• Hosting, security, and uptime monitoring — we keep your site online and up to date.
• Your new Google reviews pulled onto your website, refreshed monthly.
• Delivery of every lead from your quote form to your email and phone.
• Up to two small content updates per month — changing text, swapping a photo, updating your hours, phone number, or prices.

Included every quarter:

• Search engine (SEO) optimization work — reviewing and improving how your site is set up to be found on Google.

Not included — we are happy to do these, quoted separately before any work starts: new pages, redesigns, logo design, photography or video, paid advertising, online booking or scheduling systems, online stores or payment processing, and written content beyond the small updates above.

4. Your domain name

NorthStar registers, owns, and maintains the domain name for your website, and pays the yearly renewal for as long as your care plan is active. You have exclusive use of it while your account is in good standing.

5. If a payment is missed

• If a payment fails, we will email you and automatically retry the card over the following two weeks.
• At 30 days past due, your website is taken offline and replaced with a temporary notice page. Your domain and your site are kept safe.
• We restore your site within two business days of payment being received.
• At 90 days past due, we may permanently delete the website and release the domain name.

6. Results and search rankings

We will do real work to help your website get found, and we will tell you honestly what we did. We cannot and do not guarantee any specific Google ranking, amount of traffic, number of leads, or amount of new business. Google decides rankings and changes how it works regularly. Anyone who promises you a #1 spot is not being straight with you.

7. What we need from you

• Photos, your list of services, business details, and timely approvals so we can build and launch.
• You confirm that you own or have permission to use every photo, logo, and piece of text you give us, and that it is your own work being shown.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of any claims we publish for you — licence numbers, insurance, years in business, and service areas.
• Keeping a valid payment method on file.

8. Ownership

• You own your content — your photos, your text, your logo, your reviews. That never changes.
• Once the build fee is paid, you have full right to use your website for your business for as long as your care plan is active.
• NorthStar keeps ownership of the underlying design system and code used to build it, which we reuse across our clients.
• We may show your website as an example of our work.

9. Cancelling

• Either of us may cancel the care plan with 30 days written notice (email is fine).
• The $499 build fee is non-refundable once work has started. Monthly fees already paid are not refunded.
• When the care plan ends, the website is taken offline and the domain is handled as described in Section 4.
• On request within 30 days of cancelling, we will send you a copy of your photos and written content.

10. Limits of responsibility

We will do our work carefully and professionally. If something does go wrong, our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the previous three months. We are not responsible for lost profits, missed leads, or outages caused by things outside our control — including your domain registrar, hosting provider, Google, internet outages, or email spam filters.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. They are the entire agreement between us and replace anything discussed beforehand. Any changes must be agreed in writing by both of us. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
